Mixtape Monday! What a time to be a MONDAY!

After the hype all over various social media streams I had hoped this would be as great and folks were making it seem..... It wasn't. I was underwhelmed to say the least. Track after track I kept waiting for a banger to drop and instead I only got a deep urge to skip to the next song. It felt kinda like digging through the junk drawer for something you were certain would be there and you take everything out only to discover its not actually. Now you're stuck thinking damnit! not only am I still missing what I am lookng for but now I gotta but all this shit back in the drawer..... Im giving this one away proceed to the link.

I have to admit, I keep hoping to come across something new that Ricky Rozay releases and it is whack. Not because I'm a hater but simply because I believe his mainstream popularity is far too overrated. But in all honesty, the dude puts out good music. This mixtape is no exception. Its a collection of revamped classic hip hop beats with stylized vocals in the traditional mixtape fashion. Majority of this joint is nice with an awesome vibe. I strongly recommend this for those that are on the cusp like me. In other words, if you've damn near given up on hip hop and rap because of whats out there and just want something popular to enjoy for once. This is a decent form of saving grace. I'm not sayin its the hip hop savior but is a satisfactory work worth listening and chilling to. Here is the full mixtape here.

Moving right along in the realm of  Maybach Music  lets address the delightful living essence of harmonious splendor that is Teedra Moses. She is the crown jewel when it comes hidden gems in r&b soul music. I guess you can tell I'm a fan. This album is a soulful breath of fresh air. If you are familiar with her work I assure you that you wont be disappointed. And if you are disappointed God hates you. The vibe of this album is very consistent with her usual style and delivers something new with the traditional recipe of soul. check out the album below.

Hit-Boy: Zoomin EP

One of IE's own I am proud to throw this one up on the blog. Honestly, I haven't heard much from dude in a minute so its good to see that he didn't just fade to full blown obscure oblivion. This joint like most EP's was short and sweet. Just a clean sample to "whet" your hip hop palate  ( <--- see what I did there? if you don't google the word.then read some damn books! ) Was I impressed? Nah... But that's not to throw shade just I have a stronger expectation for an artist of his caliber. The track "Absurd" was pretty decent. But I'll let you be the judge. Check the Youtube link below and post of your comment if you feel it.

Absurd (May 21st) Ft. Gizzle

@FEofficial
This is a fun album. This being the fifth album of these a musical masterminds  it is truly an acoustic comfort piece. l I love the eclectic melodic journey that their music takes you on. Although I was quite as moved by this album as I was with their previous works I still enjoyed the vibe that it renders. Its like that kind of music you chill to while enjoing a fruity cocktail at the pool of stylishly chic hotel resort. You know, grown folk shit. If you're all about the turn up skip this one. This aint for yo lil young ass anyway....

#Summermusic

Jay Z- Magna Carta Holy Grail

@S_C_

So After the heavy advertising and anticipation I was very eager to hear the album. Woke up that morning and the first thing I did was hit play on the album. I was hoping to start my 4th off right.  I didn't care for the Yeezus album so I really didn't know what to expect with this one. My sister asked me, "Did the album live up to all the hype?" I believe it did. It's a sound body of work. There wasn't a single song that was utterly whack. In my book, as long as you put out quality work that is all one can ask for.Was the album mind blowing and amazing....? nah. Just sumthin cool and new to ride out to.  One of my favorite tracks "Somewhereinamerica" produced by the I.E.'s own Hitboy and "Tom Ford" obviously tho, I'm reppin for the hometown so here is the somewhereinamerica track.

Joey Bada$$- Summer Knights

@joeyBADASS_

This kid is pure lyrical ferocity. Hailing from New York he seriously keeps me intrigued with his flow. This mixtape is particularly chill with a kick back kinda vibe to it. If you're lookin for sumthin to chill and read to or just cruise around town with this is the mixtape for you. The whole thing gives me a a 90's feel but with a smooth upgrade. One of the things I particularly like about his style is that he's original. Not the common spit about whips, chains, money, and clothes. Its on some authentic real thought processed expression.

Kevin McCall- Sextape EP

@kevinmccall

Some of you may remember this dude from the hit with Chris Brown "deuces" but this kat stay in the lab pushin out quality heat. This jawn is no exception. Although short ( as most EP's  are) its still a cool lil piece to beef up ya slow jam collection. If you're like me and you enjoy the more obscure artist this will add a little variety to the playlist. The majority of the mixtape is on par with the album title. Its sultry r&b flavor of grind worthy sub lines and smooth tones  is sure to get you a good show at any strip club or even at home if you got it like that lol.

 Joe- Double Back Evolution of R&B

@JoeThomas563

There shouldnt be much I should have to say about this critically acclaimed artist. If you listen to R&B you have to have lived under rock on Saturn to not know about this dude. This album is his 10th and release and its not bad. Notice I didn't say "great" its cool be it feels like the  Anderson Silva cop out of R&B to me. In other words it seems like he tired or that his heart just isn't in it anymore. He definitely could have come harder in my opinion. It certainly doesn't suck tho. It carries a little bit of the usual Joe style which is always cool and  breezy. If you are a Joe fan I don't believe you'll be disappointed. And even if you are true fans horde everything so get it anyway.

Ty Dolla $ign- Beach House 2

Ty Dolla $ign is a rapper, singer, and producer from Los Angeles. His initial claim to fame was through the success of "Toot It and Boot It", a song he both wrote and produced for Def Jam artist YG. Both are affiliated with the group Pu$haz Ink. Ty Dolla $ign is recently signed to Taylor Gang Records and Atlantic Records who are set to relase his debut untitled studio album...... Yea I stole all that from Wikipedia.
Until recently I hadn't really heard of him ( Shout Out to my nigg MikeMike for puttin me on this jawn. On the real,  this dudes shit is relative to the style  Future (heavy knock status)  but the guy can actually sing. But it is straight R&B "nigga" shit lol. With song titles like "These Hoes" one should gather a fair idea of what I mean. It has great beats with some good fun and just feel good music. Will it touch you to the core of your soul? I doubt it ( unless your soul is that shallow). But if you can appreciate a jamming body of work with great baselines and hot melodies this one  is it. I would definitely throw this on at a BBQ without any kids present. So now that I'm up on it I'm definitely going back to all his older works since 2011.
**DISCLAIMER** The shit this nigga is singing about is not the blueprint of how a man should live lol. Alot of the stuff he talkin bout is a good way to catch a case or a fade!!! Still hot shit tho.

There were actually a couple more I was considering throwing up but I'm tired of typing a editing so next week folk!~~
